What does it mean to have faith in God?

Having faith in God is to believe in Him and His capabilities without any doubt. Here is a real-life example of what it means to have faith in God.

There was a time in my life when I was searching for a new car. Not too long after searching, I ended up finding one. But it was over 2,000 miles away from me.

So, I worked out a plan with my brother for him to purchase it (with money that I’d wired to him to give to the seller), then he’d drive it to me.

However, the plan didn’t go as planned, at all.

Yes, I bought the car, but soon into the trip, it ended up getting towed and I was the only person who could get the car out of the towing facility because it was technically my car.

The towing facility was over 2,000 miles away, so I took off work, hopped on a plane, and flew to where the car was.

The only problem was that I had to drive it back, by myself, as a new driver. And I had never driven that far or anything close to it. Also, I was not the best driver.

Before I left, I prayed and asked God if the car would make it back without any major breakdowns and if I’d make it back safely. And I felt an extreme wave of peace come over me.

So, I took that as a sign that I would make it back safely and nothing bad would happen to me.

Once I arrived at my destination, I went to get the car out of the tow facility, and began driving back home alone.

Around 500 miles into the drive, I noticed the GPS took me off the major highway and began sending me down back roads that were isolated and sometimes filled with lots of dirt and gravel.

I was so confused, but I followed the GPS.

About an hour went by as I drove on the dirt roads. I passes by cattle, and I could see the highway from a far distance…

Then my car started smoking lots of white smoke and stopped in what looked like the middle of nowhere.

I got out the car, in the middle of nowhere and began to walk to a gas station that I could barely see. As I was walking, I began to cry and told God that His peace assured me that everything would be alright. And it was not; I felt sad.

Then, out of nowhere a man wearing a cowboy hat driving a huge truck drove by and asked if I needed help.

Wiping away my tears, I said, “yes.” We drove back to where my car stopped and he looked at it.

He said, it just needed some type of hose, because the hose burst and that’s why it was smoking. It wasn’t a major problem, and he said the hose was less than $5 at AutoZone and he could install it for free because it was an easy fix.

So, we went to AutoZone, but they didn’t have the part and the soonest they could get it was the next morning.

I didn’t have any extra money, but I didn’t tell the man that. And out of nowhere he offered to get me a hotel then pick me up the next morning to fix the car.

I swear that man was God-sent.

On the way to the hotel, he told me that he saw me on his property (even though it looked like I was in the middle of nowhere) and drove to me to see what was going on.

I was stunned because I didn’t even see a house in sight, all I saw was a bunch of cows. Looking back I can see that God was at work the whole time, setting me up with the perfect person to help me.

The next morning came, he pick me up, installed the hose, and I was back on the road.

I ended up making it home safe without any problems. God is so good!

What happens when you have faith in God?

As you can see from my real-life experience when you have faith in God, He will work out everything for you, even when it doesn’t make sense.

What were the odds that I would be re-routed by the GPS onto a stranger’s property right when my car stopped? Then have that same stranger fix my car and help me?

God’s provision and timing was perfect. Because had I stopped on the major highway, I probably would’ve never gotten the help that I needed (like inspecting the car, finding the problem, putting me in a hotel overnight, and fixing it for free).

When you have faith in God, He truly will work everything out for you, just like He did for me in my time of need.

Best Faith in God Prayer to Increase your Faith

God,

“Thank you for watching over me and keeping me safe and well-protected. Lord, I love you. I thank you for your goodness, mercy, and forgiveness Heavenly Father.

Father God, I ask that you come into my heart and purify my soul. Bless my faith in you Lord. Give me an increase in faith so that I’m confident in my prayer request to you.

Build and strengthen my faith and make the foundation of my faith as solid as a rock. Let me never waver in faith and when I pray, I ask that I genuinely believe that what I’m praying for will come to pass.

Remove any and all doubt and disbelief that’s within me God. Because I know that nothing is too hard for you Lord. I also know that without faith it is impossible to please you Heavenly Father.

And I desire to please you God.

So, I ask that I never doubt you or what you’re capable of doing. Because You can do all things. Just as your word says, “All things that are impossible with men are possible with God.”

I pray that I never place limitations on you Lord, or how you choose to show up in my life.

Give me the type of faith that can produce miracles because of my strong belief and trust in you Lord.

I ask that you hear my pleas and petitions, and that you answer my prayers.

I pray that they do not return to me void, but that they accomplish all that which I please and prosper whereto I send them.

And I send them to you Father God.”

In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
