Healing Power of Prayer
What is the Most Powerful Prayer for Healing
The healing prayer of King Hezekiah was so powerful yet fascinating at the same time. It shows us a different side to God that we hadn’t previously seen before in scripture. It looked as if God’s decision about Hezekiah’s life was final and set in stone, but when God heard the cry and prayer of King Hezekiah, the Lord reversed His decision. God showed us His ability to grant such a simple prayer request. Most people think they should say a long 30 plus minute prayer to be heard by God, but Hezekiah’s prayer proves that way of thinking to be wrong.
Let’s see how…
Hezekiah’s Sickness
When King Hezekiah became sick to the point of near death, the Lord sent the prophet, Isaiah to tell him that he was going to die. At the sound of those words, he immediately turned to God in prayer. This is where the story gets very interesting, because a lot can be learned about how the Lord intervenes for believers.
According to scripture Hezekiah didn’t even ask to be healed when he prayed, yet God still healed him. It’s the fact that Hezekiah didn’t ask to be healed, yet the Lord still supplied his need and healed him that baffles me most. The Bible clearly states that Hezekiah cried out to God and reminded the Lord of how faithful and righteous he had been to the Lord. When he prayed, his exact words were:
“Remember, LORD, how I have walked before you faithfully and with wholehearted devotion and have done what is good in your eyes.” (2 Kings 20:2).
He never once asked God to heal him, but Hezekiah’s simple prayer and sadness moved God to heal him. Not only did God heal Hezekiah, but he was generous enough to extend his life by an additional 15 years! His sincere prayer proved to be fruitful because it saved his life, in the end. Also, it goes to show that the prayers of a righteous man really does avail much, just like God’s word says.
Hezekiah’s experience clearly demonstrates God’s faithfulness, compassion, and kindness. And how serving Him and living righteously definitely has its benefits.

How Do I Pray to God for Miracle Healing
When you pray you must first have faith in God, and in His ability and willingness to heal you, that’s first and foremost. If you do not believe you will not receive! Secondly, you should tell God your need and ask Him to supply that need. Lastly, use Biblical scripture references when you pray because let’s not forget that in Hebrews 4:12 it says, “God word is living and powerful. It is sharper than a sword that cuts two ways. It cuts straight into where the soul and spirit meet and it divides them. It cuts into the joints and bones. It tells what the heart is thinking about and what it wants to do.” (New Life Version, NLV). So, if God’s word is alive and powerful, then speak it when you pray, to release its power.
Here’s a prayer to pray for healing:
“Lord, I love you and I thank you for all my blessings. You are beyond incredible and I come to you in need. Lord, I pray and ask that you heal my mind, body, spirit, and soul so that I can operate and function just as you designed for me to. Your word says that you came so that we shall have life more abundantly. God, living in sickness is not living abundantly like your word says. I ask that you uproot and destroy the root of my sickness, illness, and/or disease. I ask that you stop the sickness from spreading and that you heal my body and make me whole again.
Restore, revitalize, and renew me, I pray. If there’s anything that I did wrong on my end that caused this illness to come upon me then Lord I ask that you forgive me and take away the desires on my end that led me to have this sickness, so that I will never have to deal with this again. Remove all toxins, pollutants, and unhealthiness from my body and be with me in all that I do Lord. Heal me Lord so that I can give a testimony to your name and healing ability.
I call those things that be not as though they were, and I call myself healed right now in the name of Jesus. I ask that I quickly see the physical manifestation of my prayer come to pass, Lord. Take the pain from my body and replace it with strength and healing. I know you to be a God, whose hand is not too short that it cannot save and your ear is not too heavy that it cannot hear.
Hear me Lord as I pray, and I ask that you acknowledge me although you don’t have to. Lord your word says that you are no respect of a person. And what you can do for one, you can do for all. Everything is possible with you dear Lord and there is nothing too hard for you. Heal me Lord, and let not my words return to me void, but let them accomplish all that which I ask and prosper where to I send them, and Lord, I send them to you, and you alone, in the mighty name of Jesus I pray. Amen!”

What Prayer Does God Always Answer
God doesn’t always answer our prayer every time we pray, for many different reasons. For instance, our prayers may not be in alignment with His will, unanswered prayers may offer protection in ways that we may never know, or it simply may not be the right time.
An important scripture to consider about answered and unanswered prayers is James 4:2-3. It says, “… you do not get things because you do not ask for them. Or if you do ask, you do not receive because your reasons for asking are wrong. You want these things only to please yourselves.” (New Life Version, NLV)
This simply means that you will not get an answered prayer if: you don’t ask for what you want, or if you ask for what you want but with the wrong intentions.
When God does answer our prayer, He most certainly answers the prayer that is sincere, filled with faith, and with motives that come from a righteous place. We must also take into account God’s will and purpose for what we’re praying for as well.
