Christian faith is the core of believing in Jesus, and without it we won’t go very far. That’s because faith is a key component to prayer and building a solid relationship with God. Let’s explore the importance of Christian faith and why every believer should have it.

The faith that God wants every believer to have has the ability to tap into the supernatural realm and bring about change. Notice in the New Testament when Jesus healed the sick, He almost always mentioned the sick person’s faith being involved.
There were many times He said, “your faith has healed you,” and the sick person was healed. However, when there was a lack of faith or no faith at all, then the results weren’t the same. Take for example, when Peter’s lack of faith caused him to not walk on water.
Had Peter had faith he would’ve walked on water just like Jesus did, but his lack of faith caused him to sink into the water. Peter is a great example of why faith is important to have and why without it you won’t go very far.

Christian Faith
What is the Christian faith?
At the core of Christian faith is believing in Jesus Christ, and that He died on the cross for our sins. Without this belief there wouldn’t be Christian faith. In fact, for Christianity to grow globally, the disciples first had to believe that Jesus was the Son of God. So, before the twelve disciples existed and spread the Gospel of Truth, faith did. Faith was the driving force behind it all. Christian faith caused many early believers to endure pain, suffering, imprisonment, persecution, and even death. The early Christian’s faith was so strong that it produced an unwavering commitment and faithfulness to God, that the face of death couldn’t even come in between.
Hebrews 11 tells us that, “faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.” Faith is the crucial first step of believers having a relationship with God. That is because we have to first believe that He exist, although we can’t see Him. It is powerful and effective because it forces us to fully believe and trust in God without having any physical proof of what we’re believing and trusting Him for. Faith invokes confidence and assurance because its foundation is based on believing.

What are examples of Christian faith?
The Bible is filled with many examples of Christian faith. However, and example of faith that we can all learn from in the New Testament is when Jesus was asked to heal a man in a very unconventional way. The man who needed healing was a servant of a centurion. FYI, a centurion was a Roman military official who was in charge of 100 soldiers. His servant became ill and near death. So, the centurion found Jesus and asked if he could heal his servant, Jesus agreed then headed to the man’s home to heal him.
However, while Jesus was on the way, the man didn’t believe that Jesus needed to travel all the way to his home just to heal his servant. He believed that Jesus could heal him just by saying a word. He gave a great example by saying, “For I myself am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I tell this one ‘Go,’ and he goes; and that one ‘Come,’ and he comes. I say to my servant ‘Do this,’ and he does it.” (Matthew 8:9). After the centurion said that to Jesus, even Jesus was impressed with his faith. Jesus responded and told him that his servant would be healed just as he believed he would be. Ultimately, the servant was healed that same hour, because of the centurion’s faith and belief that he would be healed.
Isaac and Rebekah’s faith
Rebekah marrying Isaac is also another example of faith. Both Isaac and Rebekah’s faith was on fully visible when they accepted each other as their spouse. For starters, Rebekah had no clue what Isaac looked like, what his personality was like, or whether or not they were even compatible. And, he lived hundreds of miles away! She had impeccable faith to leave her home and family, with a complete stranger, to marry a man she’d never met. Isaac’s faith was also shown when he willingly accepted Rebekah as his wife after Eliezer told him all that happened on his journey.

What are the 5 basic qualities of faith?
Commitment.
It’s easy to commit without giving up when you have faith. The perfect example is when Abraham was about to sacrifice his only son, Isaac. Abraham’s faith was so strong that even up until the last second he was committed to doing what God told him to do, all because of his faith. It didn’t make any sense to sacrifice Isaac, but his faith believed in God despite how crazy it looked to sacrifice his son. In the end, Isaac wasn’t sacrificed, but a lesson about how commitment and faith runs parallel can definitely be learned.
Perseverance.
A person with faith will persevere until the very end. They don’t take no for an answer, and still manages to believe even when they see a closed door. Resistance and closed doors mean absolutely nothing to those with faith. It will never discourage them; in fact it’ll make them push harder and believe even more. Perseverance is a basic quality because faith truly believes in whatever it hopes for despite resistance.
Fearlessness.
Fear and doubt are the opposite of faith. To have fear is foreign to those with faith because believing will cancel out any fear. Think of Kind David when he fought Goliath. By looking at the circumstances, anyone would’ve bet that David would’ve lost that fight. He had everything working against him, including his brothers, weapons of choice, and his height. Goliath was a giant compared to David, but David’s lack of fear and underestimated ability to fight caused him to win. A person with faith is inspiringly fearless because faith is the absence of fear, doubt, and worry. Only 100% belief has room with faith!
Lack of worry.
When faith is present, worry is not. Faith doesn’t have a worry in the world, because in the mind of the person with faith: what they desire is already done and going to happen. No ifs, ands, or buts about it. Even when bad news or delays come, that still will never be enough to get a person with faith to worry. Because they believe strongly in their faith.
Unwavering Belief.
Faith believes strongly without wavering for what is desired and hoped for. No proof is needed to have faith, yet a person with faith still believes without any evidence. Confidently. This quality is a sight to see and truly inspirational to others. Many people with strong Christian faith, faith tends to rub off on those around them. It becomes infectious, like Abraham and his servant Eliezer, who found Rebekah based on his prayer of faith.

What is the key to faith?
If doubt and disbelief are the main enemies of faith, then the key to faith is definitely unwavering belief. It is the removal of all doubt, while believing in or for whatever you’re believing for. Faith confidently envisions what is desired before it ever even happens, with no evidence of it happening yet. Faith invokes confidence and assurance because faith’s foundation is belief in God. We believers know, that the nature of God is proven to be reliable, faithful, and dependable. He never lets His children down and has our best interest at heart. With that being said, there’s no need to disbelieve because like God’s word says, “He who promised is faithful.” And He definitely is!
