Faith encouragement can go a long way. Sometimes we can become so engulfed in our problems that we can forget to encourage ourselves, and we let our problems overtake us through worrying.

I’m guilty of this too, but I find that things always get better when I apply encouraging scriptures to my life and take it to God in prayer.

Living in worry is not the state of mind that God wants us to live in. He desires for us to release our cares, concerns, worries, and burdens onto Him and to let Him handle it.

In this post, you’re going to learn 3 great ways to encourage yourself, along with some helpful ways to uplift and renew yourself spiritually, and much more.

After reading this post, you’ll know how to provide faith encouragement to yourself.

3 Great Ways to Offer Faith Encouragement to Yourself

1.Have positive pep talks with yourself

When you wake up before you start your day, start it by saying encouraging words to yourself. This will help improve your day because you’ll start it positively. You can say affirmations or scriptures aloud or in your mind. As long as they resonate with you and you believe what you’re saying to yourself. Speak life into yourself and pour into yourself, just as you would do to someone else.  You can say something like:

“Today will be a good day for me because God is with me in all that I do. I trust that God will go before me and prepare the way and remove all disturbances, negativity, and hinderances out of my way. I will smile and be full of encouragement today to myself and to others. God loves me greatly and I thank you Father that I can cast my cares and worries upon you while I enjoy a life that’s lived in abundance.”

2.Read encouraging biblical scriptures

Go straight to God’s word and apply the scriptures that speak to you and your current situation over your life. An encouraging scripture to say and apply is Psalm 23:4, “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.” This scripture tells you that God is with you even in your darkest hour, and that He’ll bring comfort to you despite how bad things get. Also reading passages about how God helped certain people out of their troubles will help encourage you too. Because you’ll become accustomed to His faithfulness and know His goodness.

3.Pray for yourself

Pray and ask God to encourage you and teach you how to encourage yourself. When you pray, you’ll feel better because you’ll express your cares and concerns to God and it’ll feel as if a weight has been lifted, especially if you do it routinely. As you pray, always recite scriptures that apply to your current circumstances. Because when you speak God’s word it: “is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart,” just as His word says in Hebrew 4:12. God’s word is powerful.

What is a powerful verse to encourage?

Psalm 139:13-14,

“For You formed my inward parts. You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well.”

This is a very encouraging verse because it acknowledges that God was with you always, even at the earliest part of your life: conception. And that He created you exactly how you were supposed to be created, so revel and take pride in being His wonderful creation.

What are some spiritual words of encouragement?

Always remember that everything has a purpose. You may not understand or know why you’re in the circumstance that you’re in, but as long as you know that everything happens for a reason, you’ll be fine.

Let’s take Joseph as an example. He had plenty of bad things happen to him, one after another but God had a purpose for it all. God used bad situations to place Joseph in front of Pharaoh, so that when the appointed time came for him to reveal the dream, Pharaoh would promote him to second-in-command to save the world from famine.

It was all a part of God’s plan and provision the entire time bad things happened to Joseph. I’m sure Joseph didn’t have the proper understanding while bad things happened to him, but in the end, God gave him an understanding that what they meant for evil, God turned it around and made good come out of it, so that Joseph could save the world.

The story of Joseph goes to show, how everything happens for a reason and how there’s purpose in everything; even the bad.

How to renew yourself spiritually?

It starts with renewing and silencing your mind. Because everything first starts with a thought. So, if you want positive encouraging thoughts, then you must renew your mind first in order to fully renew yourself spiritually.

To renew your mind, you must go to God’s word, which is the Bible, and begin reading and digesting what it says. Eventually, you’ll start to memorize it and believe what it says. That will then transform your mind and renew you spiritually because you’ll be filled and full of the word of God.

How do I increase my spiritual strength?

Prayer is one powerful effective way to increase your spiritual strength. Making prayer a daily habit will not only help build your faith, but increase your spiritual strength as well. It increases your strength because it brings you in communion with God. You get to experience God’s love, compassion, peace, forgiveness, and so much more through prayer.

Prayer also increases your trust in God. You’ll know that you can easily go to Him about anything in prayer and that He’s fully capable of handling your issues. Strong trust is built between you and God as you consistently pray, so it makes it easy to stop worrying and living in a fearful mindset, because you trust God so much.

How to uplift yourself spiritually?

Singing is a great way to uplift yourself. Start by singing uplifting praise songs, this will help you remember God’s goodness and it’ll offer an element of praise to God, which He loves. Music will quickly help you feel uplifted when you’re feeling down.

Other ways to uplift yourself spiritually:

  • Read the Bible or a self-help book
