Women of Faith
Women of faith in the Bible
Moses Mom
Moses’s mother made her faith very obvious when she refused to have her child be killed and instead put him in a basket and let him sail down the Nile river. Very bad things could’ve happened to her child in the river, but she had enough faith to believe that he would be okay. She was right, because shortly after, Moses was found by Pharaoh’s daughter and taken into her care as her own child.
It takes incredible faith to place a child in dangerous elements while believing that God would protect him. Moses could’ve starved to death, the basket could’ve flipped over, and so many other horrible things could’ve happened to baby Moses, but God was with him. And the faith of his mother saved him. He later became a great leader, led the Israelites out of Egypt, and delivered them from slavery.
Ruth
Ruth’s faith was admirable, steadfast, and unwavering. When her husband died, she could’ve listened to her mother-in-law Naomi, and gotten remarried, but she chose to stay with Naomi instead. She promised Naomi that wherever she went she would follow and serve her God as well. That paid off for her because she later went on to remarry a successful man named Boaz, created a family with him, and gave birth to Obed (King David’s grandfather).
Had not her faith been so steadfast she wouldn’t have been redeemed, saved, and remarried. God really blessed Ruth because of her faith and in the end, he turned her life around for the better.
Lady with the blood issue
Many people can learn a lot from this woman. She saw an opportunity to be healed and she took it without leaving any room for doubt. She suffered with bleeding issues for twelve long years, until she saw Jesus and believed that if she could just touch his clothes that she would be healed. After touching his clothes, she was instantly healed and delivered from her pain and suffering.
Jesus went on to tell her that her faith is what healed her. You see, all it took for her to get cured was to have faith and act on her faith. God’s word does say that, “faith without works is dead.” She definitely had the faith and the works to receive her much-needed healing and was rewarded because of it.
Rebekah
Rebekah was one of the first women in the Bible to exude such great faith. Her faith is so honorable because how she used it was so unordinary. I don’t think there’s a woman alive who would leave their family and country with a stranger they just met to get married to a man they’ve never met before! It takes great faith to do that. She didn’t let unbelief stop her in her quest to marry Abraham’s son, Isaac.
As a result, she gave birth to Jacob and Esau, and the twelve tribes of Israel originated from Jacob’s lineage. Rebekah’s faith made her one of the matriarch’s of the twelve tribes of Israel.

Who is an inspirational woman of faith?
There’s not a lot of women whose faith can measure up to Jesus’ mom, Mary. Mary was a righteous pure woman but she also had substantial faith. Can you imagine seeing an angel, and it telling you that you’ll be impregnated by the Spirit of God, to carry the Son of God, the promised One who came to save the world from sin? That’s exactly what happened to Mary, and she had strong faith to receive the promise from God.
In fact, to receive a Promise of that magnitude, she had to have impeccable faith to receive it. She would not have even been considered by God if she didn’t have faith. Because we all know that without faith it is impossible to please God. Also, scripture teaches us that, “The promise comes by faith.” (Romans 4:16). So, Mary’s faith played a huge part in her receiving God’s promise and our Savior—Jesus Christ.
How do you describe a woman of faith?
A woman of faith fiercely believes in God and His word. One will notice that she has an unshakeable confidence in God and whatever she’s believing God for, that often becomes infectious to those around her. This woman’s confidence does not waver at all! Her confidence is one of the first things you’ll notice about her. Bad news will not put her in a frenzy or panic, while everyone else is panicking she’ll remain calm and still full of confidence.
She’s usually the person confidently reassuring everyone that everything will be okay and not to worry. Her confidence makes her fearless, so this woman doesn’t struggle with fear nor doubt, at all. She’s quintessentially the epitome of the part in Psalm 23 where it says, “Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for thou are with me.” Because she knows in her heart of hearts, through her faith, that God really is with her. This woman will stand out wherever she goes because of her strong easily recognizable faith.
