Prayer with God is something every Christian should prioritize daily. It keeps us grateful and helps deepen our connection with God through communicating our thoughts and feelings to Him. Let’s explore prayer with God!

Prayer is one of the best ways to grow and develop a relationship with God. Prayer simply means: to talk to God. It encourages us to communicate our innermost thoughts to the Lord.

It provides a space for intimate time with God, so that we can express ourselves and listen to the Holy Spirit speak to us. The more and more we practice prayer with God the closer we get to Him. Ultimately, the end goal is to draw near to God, so he can draw near to us.

In this post you are going to learn what to say to God first thing in the morning, how to put God first in your day, how to start your day with God, and much more!

After reading this post, you’ll know ways to start your day first with God and have a few prayers that you can say first thing in the morning.

This post is all about prayer with God.

Prayer with God

What to say to God first thing in the morning

You can simply start off by saying that you love Him, then showing gratitude towards Him by expressing how thankful you are to have God in your life. It only makes sense that we start our day by telling God that we love Him just as we would our spouse or children. Think about it: if we tell our spouse, family, and friends that we love them on a daily basis, then shouldn’t we say the same thing to God too?

So always make it a point to show God love and appreciation first thing in the morning by saying “I love you,” and thank you for being in my life and watching over me. You can follow this up with more gratitude, then with prayer.

How to put God first in your day

Proverbs 3:9 states, “Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the first fruits of all your crops.” Just like we should honor God with our first fruits of wealth and crops; God should also be honored with the first fruits of our time. Make time for Him first thing in the morning before you give your time to anything or anyone else. Spend time with the Lord first, in prayer, meditation, praise, worship, reading the Bible, etc.

In doing so, you’ll not only get closer to God, but you’ll show Him with your actions that He’s important, respected, and revered by you. All of which He loves.

How to start your day with God

Wake up early in the morning and spend time with God in a quiet place, with prayer. The New Testament mentions Jesus doing this at the start of his day before he spent the rest of his time with his disciples, healing others, teaching, and traveling. Jesus is the perfect role model to mimic how to start your day with God. He had the world on his shoulders and a lot of responsibility, but he still found a way to start his day with God, alone, and in prayer.

A short prayer to God for help

Heavenly Father,

“Thank you for your love, grace, and mercy. I thank you that my situation isn’t worst than what it is because it could be much worst. God, I ask that you help me in the areas that I need it in most. I’m in need and I ask that you deliver me from this problem that I face. Provide heavenly provision for my needs and bless me with your help and aid.”

In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

A Morning prayer with God

Lord,

“Thank you for waking me up today. Thank you for keeping me and my household safe throughout the night. Lord, I ask that you continue to keep us safe as we continue our day. Go before us and prepare our day; fill us with love, peace, joy, and cheer and let us have a productive day. Give us the strength and energy to complete your will for today.

Bless us with your Holy Spirit to guide us and give us insight. Fill us with creativity and ideas that are from you dear Lord. Place the right people in our path that we can minister to and uplift. I ask that we represent you well and that you use us to save a soul today.”

In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
